History & Introduction
- Founded in 1920 as Imperial College, Ludhiana, later renamed Government College for Boys, Ludhiana. In 1976, it was rechristened Satish Chander Dhawan Government College (SCD) after alumnus and renowned space scientist Satish Dhawan
- Government-aided “morning and evening” college affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, located centrally in Ludhiana on Government College Road
