History & Introduction

Established in 1962 and inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on July 8, PAU is India’s third-oldest agricultural university It played a pivotal role in pioneering the Green Revolution in the 1960s. Governed under the Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, PAU serves as a major centre for agricultural education and research in North India.

  • Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture: ₹76,880–3 Lakh (3–6 years)
  • Tech: ₹7.68–8.64 Lakh total
  • Sc.: ₹1.09–1.51 Lakh.
  • Tech: ₹2.88 Lakh.
  • MBA: ₹2.3–3.1 Lakh.
  • Hostel & Mess (single/double/triple): total ~₹61k–71k per annum

Admission Criteria

  • UG Agriculture & related: via PAU CET, ICAR AIEEA; Tech Agri‑Engg requires JEE Main plus PAU CET
  • PG: via PAU MET, GATE, ICAR AIEEA, CAT/CMAT for MBA/MCA .
  • D. through PAU PET, ICAR AIEEA or NET/JRF

  • Placement cell liaises with top companies—Infosys, New Holland, John Deere, Nestle, ITC, SBI, Cipla, etc.
