History & Introduction
Established in 1962 and inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on July 8, PAU is India’s third-oldest agricultural university It played a pivotal role in pioneering the Green Revolution in the 1960s. Governed under the Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, PAU serves as a major centre for agricultural education and research in North India.
